How to Add Photos to Your Blog

A photo or an image in most cases can convey or explain more information about your blog than words can. Because they are visual the message they communicate is instant. If you want to include photos on your blog to promote new products or services you will need to be able to transform the photos into a blog ready artwork and display them on your blog quickly. How to get photos With the technology we have today this is very easy to do. The 3 most common ways are as follows: Traditional camera: Although these are not digital you can get digital images copied on to a CD Digital camera: If you can use one of these then you can probably upload digital images to your computer with no problem. Most digital cameras come with their own graphics software. Scanner: They are handy if you want to make copies of news paper cuttings or scans of photo prints. Flatbed scanners are now becoming less expensive and there are many printer models that already include a scanner. Photo formats When you have the photo or image up loaded to your computer you will need save it to a suitable web format. There are basically 2 web formats that you need to think about which are JPEGS and GIFS. These shortened acronyms are used to describe files that are compressed formats. Many consider that JPEGS are superior when it comes to working with images and photos especially if they contain lots of colors. Generally GIFS are considered better for images with big solid areas and limited color formation. The best way is to experiment with the two to see which one you prefer as beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There is another less well known format called PNG. It is not as widely used because it is not supported by all web browsers although, it is considered too have certain advantages over the other two digital formats. Size of photo The size of the photo or image is very important. Web images that are large in file size and display size will take more time to download. If the file or display size is too big some people can experience delays in downloading and viewing your blog. This is especially the case when you will be putting lots of images and photos onto your blog. Therefore, it is important that you keep them to a reasonable size that people can view your blog with ease.
